ProCamera v15.0 is a major update that brings a careful redesign as well as enhancements for capturing and editing
Following the release of iOS 15 and the new iPhone 13 generation, we are currently rolling out the new version as a free update. It includes exciting new features, advancements and visual refinements
RAW ON ALL LENSES
On the iPhone 12, 12 mini, iPhone 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max, the standard (Bayer) RAW format is now available on all lenses – including the 0.5x Ultra Wide and the front-facing Selfie lens!
Already have a brand new Phone 13, 13 mini, iPhone 13 Pro or 13 Pro Max? You’re lucky, RAW is also available on all lenses on the latest devices!
“SAVE AS …” OPTIONS
When editing a photo in our Studio, you can now long press the Save button to choose from various photo file types via the “Save New Image as …” option.
Based on your preferences or current use case, you can pick between JPEG, HEIC, TIFF, and PNG. RAW and ProRAW photos can even be saved as brilliant 10bit HEIC or massive 16bit TIFF files.
UPDATED MODE SELECTOR
Thanks to the new design, switching camera modes is now even quicker. Simply tap the mode icon left of the main shutter button to open the new list view. At the top of the list, you will also find an option to edit the list (change order or even hide certain modes).
Tip: Long press the mode switch icon to toggle between the first two camera modes in your list. This hidden feature allows you to switch modes without even opening the mode list.
NEW CAPTURE ANIMATIONS
Thanks to a combination of visual enhancements you now receive an intuitive feedback each time a photo is taken:
NEW SHUTTER BUTTON
The main shutter button now displays a progress animation. You will see a progress outline around the button which is especially great for longer exposure times and ProRAW photos. Once the captures are processed and get saved to the Camera Roll, a light blue outline will be visible around the album thumbnail left of the main shutter button.
VIEWFINDER OUTLINE
Many users take photos with their iPhone on silent. This means it’s very important to also have a visual feedback when taking a photo. A brand new blue outline around the viewfinder image now indicates each capture. This replaces the old viewfinder blackout where you briefly wouldn’t see the scene each time the camera takes the photo.
When shooting Rapid-Fire photo series the viewfinder outline will quickly flash for each capture.
GENERAL IMPROVEMENTS
The latest ProCamera version still supports iOS 14 but we already made sure it runs smoothly on the new iOS 15 as well as the new iPhones. The general optimizations include various visual tweaks to carefully update the design for iOS 15 but also many under-the-hood improvements.
