Happy holidays to all our ProCamera users! Our latest update sees the return of the QR Code Scanner, EXIF Viewer and manual saving. We’ve also refined the focus and exposure (F/E) locking system, making it faster than ever.
First up, the new QR Code Scanner has been redesigned for ProCamera 7. It can be found under the Mode Switch (next to Night Mode). For enhanced security the ProCamera QR Code Scanner shows you the website URL so you can choose whether you want to visit the site.
The EXIF Viewer now gives you all your photo and video data in an easy to read interface.
A simple swipe to your left brings up the map, which shows you where the photo/video was taken, and amazingly, for photos, the direction you were facing. You can also keep the EXIF Viewer turned on while you swipe through your photos and video.
The Auto Save option is back in the Settings. Now you can turn on the Auto Save to save straight to the Camera Roll/Lightbox or turn it off to preview each photograph before you choose to save or delete it.
For those using the advanced focus and exposure controls (F/E Lock), we’ve fine-tuned the code resulting in faster locking on release. We hope this gives the street and documentary shooters even more confidence when preparing for a shot.
We have also squashed a number of bugs and made detail improvements to the interface.
As always, if you have any questions about the update then please let us know on our support page.
The new ProCamera 7 update is available on the AppStore for US $1.99
Any news regarding the volume button?
Hi Seb, Apple is holding firm on their decision. As such, there is no change in the situation at the moment.
Nice update, I really like the direction geotagging. you should add a function where we could apply filters real time.
Hi @Dan, thanks for the suggestion, real time filters are something we are considering for the future.
I’ve lost my “front/back” camera button on my 5S and help be greatly appreciated
Does the exif work on WhatsApp and does it tell u when photos were taken not delivered??
Hi Wayne,
You can generally check all files in ProCamera – the photos don’t need to be taken with the app. However, some applications (like WhatsApp) unfortunately erase all metadata. So you won’t be able to see when the photo was taken for those files. File size and pixel dimensions are always readable for standard photo files.
