We’ve just released our latest ProCamera 4.2 update. The update has a number of new features and some performance and usability improvements.
New and Improved Social Sharing
We’ve completely re-written the Social Sharing section of ProCamera, bringing it into line with Apple’s sharing tools. It’s now much easier to share your ProCamera photographs through your favourite social networks including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
You can find the Share button in the bottom-left corner of the Camera Roll or Lightbox view (as circled below). Pressing on the button brings up all the sharing options provided by the ProCamera.
One thing to note is that individual social network sign-in needs to be managed in the Apple Settings for each service, e.g. Facebook and Twitter (see below).
With Facebook, you can also batch upload photos from the Camera Roll or Lightbox, in ProCamera. First, click on the Multi-select tool in the top bar (see bottom-left screencap). Then select which photos you’d like to post. When you’re ready, click on the Share button and select Facebook.
This brings up the Facebook card. From here you can add a caption, location, friends or which Album to uploaded to. Click on text description of the photo thumbnail in the top right corner to enter the Album selection menu.
We’ve also improved our Dropbox integration by removing upload limits. Our very popular Instagram SquarePrepare feature is also integrated into the new sharing tools. One thing to note is that Flickr sharing is not supported in the version but will be available with the release of iOS7 later this year.
New Exhibition feature
The most exciting part of the new social sharing is our new Exhibition feature. We know that our ProCamera photographers are some of the most passionate and talented iPhoneographers in the world. With this is mind we developed the Exhibition feature to enable our users to participate in exciting real world gallery shows and exhibitions.
Our first exhibition partnership is with the team from iPhoneArt.com (IPA). The IPA Quarterly exhibition is open to all forms of mobile photography. A judging panel will select entries that will be printed and exhibited in the Santa Monica Art Studios in California. Entries close August 31, 2013. More information on the show, including submission guidelines can be found by clicking on the Exhibition function in ProCamera (located in the bottom-right corner of the Share screen).
Note* If you cannot see the Exhibition function in your app then please hard close the app. Press the home button twice, the multi tasking bar will open. Hold your finger on the ProCamera icon until it starts wiggling. Tapping the minus sign in the left upper corner of the icon will close the app. On opening again, you will find the Exhibition functon among the sharing options.
Turn off/on secondary toolbar (iPhone 5)
We listened to your feedback and have given iPhone 5 users the ability to turn off the secondary toolbar (the one with the histogram). One benefit of turning off the toolbar is that it allows for larger image previews in the 3:2 and 16:9 aspect ratios (see below).
The Histogram button can be found in the ProCamera Control Panel (top-right button when in landscape mode). Pressing on the Histogram button toggles the second menu bar on and off. Pressing on the Aspect Ratio (to the left of the Histogram button) toggles between 4:3, 3:2, 16:9 and 1:1 modes.
Here are the capture screen previews with the second menu turned off.

Adjustable Video Framerate
For the professional videographers out there, we’ve added the ability to adjust the video frame rate within the app. Located in the ProCamera Settings you can now choose between 24, 25 and 30 frames per second (fps).
Improved Timestamp
We’ve re-worked our timestamp tool making the text less intrusive on the photograph while also allowing you to independently stamp the date, time and timezone at the bottom of your photos.
We hope you enjoy using the new ProCamera 4.2. Let me know if you’ve got any questions in the comments below or shoot me an email on misho.baranovic@cocologics.com.
ProCamera 4.2 for iPhone is available for download from the App Store for USD $4.99
