ProCamera v12.4 includes a Tiltmeter overhaul, new settings options for a customizable edited version workflow, and a lot more.
The free update brings improvements to nearly all aspects of the app: Capturing, organizing, displaying, editing, and sharing.
TILTMETER OVERHAUL

Our Tiltmeter is now significantly more precise. We applied what we learned while developing Auto Perspective Correct to greatly improve the tilt angle measurements in all axes. The Tiltmeter enables you to compose your capture with minute precision as if you were using bubble levels on a pro level tripod.
Info: To display the Tiltmeter on the Viewfinder, open the Control Panel and tap the Tiltmeter icon.
EDITED VERSION SETTINGS OPTIONS
We are delighted to have received so much positive feedback on the new non-destructive workflow, and we appreciate the detailed feature requests for fine-grained settings options. You can now customize your Edited Version workflow via Settings > Edited Version.
There you will find new customization options for three core applications of the “edited version”:
- Saving edits in Studio: By default, edits are saved as edited versions. This means the original and the edited photo are combined into one entry in your Camera Roll and you can always reopen the image and adjust any edits you have made. Alternatively, you can now save your Studio edits as a separate new image (without the option to re-adjust any edits). Tap and hold the Save button in the Studio to choose between the two options for just the current photo without changing your default setting.
- Aspect Ratios: By default, the original 4:3 image is saved when taking a photo with an aspect ratio other than 4:3. This enables you to recover cropped areas and freely adjust the framing later. The iPhone sensor is in 4:3 format, which means this aspect ratio utilizes the maximum resolution and all other aspect ratios are achieved by cropping this image. With the new “Save disk space” settings option, you may solely save one photo in the currently selected aspect ratio (without the additional 4:3).
- Datestamp: The default “Non-destructive” settings gives you complete freedom when editing the photo. With this option selected, the datestamp will not be affected by your Studio edits (e.g. filters), but automatically re-applied when saving. With “Save disk space”, the datestamp is applied directly to the original photo and your subsequent editing options are limited.
LIVE PHOTO PREVIEW IN ALBUM
View Live Photos taken with the native camera app in all their glory directly inside ProCamera. When swiping through your photos, Live Photos will show short movement and a “LIVE” tag at the top. Tap and hold any Live Photo to see the full clip in action
INVERT EDITING TOOL

You will now find a new tool for inverting a photo in our editing studio, which is very handy for digitizing old black and white film negatives or for producing negatives to be used for analog processes such as cyanotype.
If you haven’t seen it yet, head over to our YouTube channel to check out our newest “In Focus” episode, where a professional photographer creates cyanotype prints using ProCamera photos!
SHARING TO OUTLOOK APP
When looking into a user-reported issue with sharing to Microsoft Outlook app, our developers found out that the app doesn’t support HEIF files (and some other technical details). To resolve the issue, we have implemented an automatic conversion to JPEG when sharing to Outlook app. For the analysis of the problem, our developer Ole Begemann created a dedicated tool called ShareInspector that helps analyze which data is shared via share sheet. It is now available as an open source project for other developers: https://github.com/cocologics/ShareInspector.
As with all new iOS releases and updates, if you have any suggestions or find a bug, then please let us know via the in-app support or email us at support@procamera-app.com.
Every single new or refreshed review is much appreciated. Thank you!
