ProCamera, in partnership with EyeEm, is proud to announce the shortlist of the „Shots Of The Year 2014 Award“. After taking a close look at nearly 1500 submissions, the jury selected 100 photographs in a multi-stage process.
On Wednesday (February 11, 2015) the 12 jury favourites will be presented. These photographs will be printed professionally at a large size and sent to the winners around the world.
The high number of outstanding photographs in the different categories (People, Animals, Nature, Street, Objects, Color, Black&White, HDR) not only showcases the variety of genres and motifs but also reveals the possibilities of today’s mobile photography.
While reviewing the submissions we came across some special photographs that weren’t as connected to the topic of „simplicity“ as the ones displayed today — nonetheless they are too good to hold back, so we will dedicate a separate blogpost to that matter.
The convincing quality of the SOTY2014 entries made us think about others ways to showcase a special collection of photographs. We will get in contact with selected photographers shortly. Have an eye on our blog for news on that project in the near future.
The Jury consisted of:

Lucy Pike, Photo Editor

Thanks to all who participated in this special event!
Thank You ProCamera and EyeEm Judges for recognizing my captures! Two out of 100 are pretty good odds! Working with my photo lab (Photo Shack in Las Vegas) we did some testing and were able to print out some of my iPhone(4) captures 44 inches wide for my show in California. Again, thank you for recognizing my captures…now I need to return back to the beach to get some more! EyeEm: markmennie
